On August 28, 2022-September 6, 2022 , employees of the Poznan University of Technology, prof. dr hab. Eng. Mariusz Glabowski, dr hab. Eng.Paweł Śniatała and dr hab. Eng. Mariusz Żal participated in a stationary training conducted by the Cyber Range and Training Center, within the ESL Global Cybersecurity Institute of Rochester Institute of Technology.
It was a hybrid training on IoT sensor security for SCADA systems enriched with penetration testing, security of cloud solutions, incident response and threat detection for such systems. The training was essential for the implementation of the project “Cyber security as a catalyst for internationalization of universities and staff development.”
The syllabus of the classroom training included:
- Building SCADA systems based on IoT sensors
- Security of SCADA systems based on IoT sensors
- Penetration testing of SCADA system based on IoT sensors
- Threat analysis of SCADA system based on IoT sensors
- Incident Response in SCADA system Based on IoT Sensors
- Security of Cloud Data from SCADA System Based on IoT Sensors
The training was conducted by the researchers from the Rochester Institute of Technology:
- Matt Huenerfauth, Ph.D.; Dean, Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences
- Andy Meneely, Ph.D.; Associate Professor, Department of Software Engineering; Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences
- Mehdi Mirakhorli, Ph.D.; Director of Cybersecurity Research in GCI
- Sumita Mishra, Ph.D.; Professor, Department of Computing Security, Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences
- Ivan De Oliveira Nunes, Ph.D.; Assistant Professor, Department of Computing Security, Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences
- Justin Pelletier, Ph.D.; Director of the GCI Cyber Range and Training Center, ESL Global Cybersecurity Institute
- Ersin Uzun, Ph.D., Katherine Johnson Endowed Executive Director, ESL Global Cybersecurity Institute
- Matthew Wright, Ph.D.; Department Chair, Computing Security Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences
- Shanchieh Yang, Ph.D.; Director of Global Outreach, Global Cybersecurity Institute
The classroom training was complemented by an online training course, using the EDX platform, which included three courses: Cyberseucrity Fundamentals, Computer Forensics, and Network Security.
Participants received certificates of completion.
