Black Hat Europe 2022 took place in London on 7-8.12.22. The conference was held at ExCel London, a state-of-the-art exhibition centre that also hosts conferences, award ceremonies and sporting events. Black Hat is an event that gave attendees access to the latest research findings and the prevailing trends in information security developments. Here, the brightest professionals and researchers in the industry came together to share their knowledge in the field.
The conference included the following activities:
- Briefings – lectures on the latest security issues and trends. Attendance at these lectures was possible in person and online. Security experts from around the world shared groundbreaking research covering applied security, exploit development, malware, and more.
- Arsenal – was a space for developers to showcase the latest open source tools and products with Black Hat attendees. The demonstrations were held in an open and conversational environment, allowing the presenters to interact with the attendees and provide a hands-on experience.
- Theatre – a venue to continue discussions started as part of the Briefing presentations. The venue was arranged so that three discussions could be held simultaneously.
The conference was also accompanied by an exhibition of the latest security solutions offered by the leading companies in the field, e.g. NETSPI, Nokia, Synack, WIZ or ZERO Networks. The exhibition provided an opportunity to discuss security education ‘at source’.
Two project representatives attended the conference: Sławomir Hanczewski, Ph.D. (Poznan University of Technology) and Gianpietro Castiglione (University of Catania). In addition, Joanna Weissenberg, Ph.D. (Poznan University of Technology), participated in the online conference.
